Let the beauty you love be what you do! - Rumi
simply magical living

The History of Faith

Faith was a Goddess boutique and art gallery located in a neighborhood storefront at 1925 Hayes Street in San Francisco from June 5, 2003 to February 25, 2005. (It was just up the street from where Soothe is now.)

Created by Elka Eastly Vera — with the generous support of partners, friends and community — Faith held the intention of being a living spell of well-being, love and positive transformation. It sought to make magic accessible, sensible and beautiful.

Here's what some words from Faith's customers and vendors:

Faith:
you have inspired me
you have drawn me in
you have pushed me
opened me
challenged me
and pointed me
down paths i'd not
have seen
i enter
and magically you steer me
to the tools that will
open my heart
and fill my life
thanks. — jen

Thank you for bringing beauty, warmth, magic and faith to the neighborhood. Your work has created ripples which will continue far into the future. Love, Elaine + Lulu

Knowing that the Faith store was here in our neighborhood always made me very happy. Faith, Elka and all the wonderful people involved with Faith imparted a beautiful, loving, healing energy. — Misun

Faith has given me inspiration to be of service to humanity in a way that I never knew I could. Faith has brought me in contact with people that have assisted me in finding my true path in life. Thank you!

Faith was/is huge to my emerging identity as an artist. Faith was/is the "gold standard" for doing "business" of art with honor and integrity. — Sara

Faith continues to show me that life is good, that it's ok to be, that there is a wealth of treasure in life that is joyfully shared. The creations I have sold through Faith have found their perfect audience. The creations I have found in Faith have been loved by every single person I have given them to. — Beth

"Faith." What a presumptuous name. And yet, incredibly, that is exactly what one finds here. Every action, every object d'art, every tarot reading is an expression of faith. It is in the very air one breathes upon entering. I come here, I take a breath, and I am instantly in touch with the immanent beauty, magic, and love of love, the universe, and everything. — Lothlorien
